Bissmillahi Rahmani Raheem.
( In the name of Allah, The Gracious, The Merciful)
I have often thought to myself, why should someone be ignorant of Allah and the Shariah? In my own heart I find there is everything there. Whatever Islam teaches goes according to our Fitra (ar. nature). Even if there are things which do not make sense in logical terms but since they are according to our nature they are in perfect harmony with our inner selves. Take the example as Abdur Raheem Green said in one of his lectures: The massah ( wiping with wet hands) of socks is done on the top part of the feet and not the sole. According to logic we would say that it is the sole that gets dirty by walking on the floor but Prophet Mohammad Sallala ho Alaihi wasslam wiped his sock on the top part. We cannot say I cannot do this because it’s against my nature or I am not used to it or that it makes no sense. If it’s a command from Allah, you would notice that the ONLY obstruction you may have is this:
What will people think if I do it?
This comes from our own selves. Sometimes in fact most of the times it is the Shaytaan who whispers to us but there is an enemy within us that prevents us from doing things.
in the quraan in surah yusuf, Allah says ( verse 53):
وَمَا أُبَرِّئُ نَفْسِي إِنَّ النَّفْسَ لأَمَّارَةٌ بِالسُّوءِ إِلاَّ مَا رَحِمَ رَبِّيَ إِنَّ رَبِّي غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
