Sleep

Assalamoalaikum,

Its been long time since I wrote something, a lot has changed during those weeks or months in my surroundings, in my soul, in me…

I just woke up from a short nap and felt like a lot of the rust that had gathered on my soul has cleared it away. I feel like deep and peaceful sleep purifies a persons soul, alhamdolillah what a blessing!

When I am sad or tired or ill it refreshes me and my soul and I feel like I have been reborn. That is whywe are supposed to say the dua:

Dua' for waking up from sleep

Alhamdulillahi lazee ahyaanaa b’ada amaatanaa wa ilaihil nushoor

Translation: Thanks be to Allah who awoke us after our death and He is the only one that can resurrect us.

Assalamoalaikum

I’m back after a long long time. My laptop suffered badly and the worst thing was about a thousand photos in it which are lost, I haven’t replaced it yet but I am back with my old “new” desktop, Alhamdolillah.

So I hope that you are all well, Eid was great, everyone had fun and things are going well. I missed my blog. Raheel Bhai thank you for conveying my message, jazakAllah.

I am still not used to the keyboard which is much stiffer, but inshaAllah I will try and post some useful stuff that I had been meaning to InshaAllah.

Phases and Duniya..

Bissmillahi Rahmani Raheem.

Assalamoalikum,alhamdolillah

I think I had been absent for some time due to being very busy with the family and also sorting myself out. Sometimes we go through silly phases and I am so relieved that I am back to the real world!! Alhamdolillah!!

InshaAllah I will be posting some useful stuff again as I have restarted my study on Quran. May Allah give us all taufeeq to do good for ourselves and everyone around us, ameen.

I also wanted to share some verses which ALWAYS makes me think..

20. Know that the life of this world is only play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children, as the likeness of vegetation after rain, thereof the growth is pleasing to the tiller; afterwards it dries up and you see it turning yellow; then it becomes straw. But in the Hereafter (there is) a severe torment (for the disbelievers, evil-doers), and (there is) Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the believers, good-doers), whereas the life of this world is only a deceiving enjoyment.

21. Race one with another in hastening towards Forgiveness from your Lord (Allah), and towards Paradise, the width whereof is as the width of heaven and earth, prepared for those who believe in Allah and His Messengers. That is the Grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He pleases. And Allah is the Owner of Great Bounty.

( Surah Al Hadid, Chapter 7,  Verses 20 and 21)

May Allah forgive us all, ameen.

First Day OF Eid:

Assalamoalaikum,

Just another quick post, I will be editing details into the same post some time tomorrow InshaAllah, but I just wanted to say I had the most fabulous, the most amazing and most wonderful first day of Eid, Alhamdolillah.

I have noticed that I have lately started to do major things very cleanly and in very less time. Some people spend all their day making food for guests while I make 7 dishes in 3 hours with minimum mess and minimum after –eating cleaning, Alhamdolillah.I don’t run around like a headless chicken when guests are there and everything is perfectly perfect, subhanAllah, I enjoyed with the help of my husband both during Iftaris in Ramadan or Eid hustle and bustle Alhamdolillah. More organised plan means more relaxed day. The kids enjoyed a lot as well.

I love Eid!!

(That’s also what my kids said!! P.S they got so much eidi!!  In Swiss Francs too, hehe.)

Edit:

I thought to finally edit in the details!!

Well I went to a friends home, and her mum had come from Pakistan so brought  her kids nice pakistani clothes, the 4 years old daughter was  wearing banaras pajama and tissue frock and crinkle dupatta ( yes I recently learnt some of the clothes’ names :P) and the 1.8 years old son was wearing brown kurta and white shalwar and so was her husband. Then some more friends came ( pakistani) and  we all sat there and just ate :S

Her husband said, on Eid day, you dont ask questions, its all about eating!! Even if you ate, eat more and more and more until you cant eat more then you eat some more :D, that was funny!!

Then we came back and I quickly changed all the linen and cleaned around as the kids had opened their presents and there were huge boxes everywhere. My Swedish friend came with her fmaily for Eid, she was non Muslim  but it was fun with her too.

Next day was kids’ school day so only one friend visited but I went to the kids school and celebrated Eid with my kids’ classes. I distributed goody bags with cool toys and sweets and  handmade ( boring) eid cards. Then I gave a lesson to the kids about Eid and then they asked questions and I answered, then the teacher took photos too!! It was fun. I also gave some expensive swiss chocolate and eid cards to the teachers.

Next day my Pakistani friend came to my house, we had tea together. And I also had to go to my arab groups gathering but we couldnt make it… It wasn’t very busy, but the kids were happy, especially the first and second day.  Someone should have seen all the class’ faces when I was there!! My daughter nearly fainted when she saw me coming into her class with King Jouet bags..:D

All in All, Fantastic.

P.S I had NEVER eaten so many  heavy, rich cream cakes in my life, throughout Ramadan and Eid I served and ate  fruit cream cakes at peoples places. Fresh fruit cakes.

A Quick Note

Assalamoalaikum,

This is a quick note. I have edited the entry called Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rajaoon and instead of the slug picture put another picture there, of a flower. I had forgotten my pact with myself to not capture or publish any living things’ pictures again. I am sorry, InshaAllah I will be more careful in the future.

I hope you equally like that picture 🙂

P.S I had been growing some herbs and sunflowers despite my husband’s warnings that the weather will go cold ( my protest being it just began to be hot!) and they may be killed just as they have sprouted in full bloom because there hasn’t been any sunlight for the second day now, and the temperature is really low as well…

My Mixed Herbs Pot..
My Mixed Herbs Pot..

Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rajaoon!

Assalamoalaikum,

This is in the memory of someone dear to me. I had her only for about 2 months maybe three maximum, it was 12.1 mega Pixels, 5 times optical zoom, 29 mm wide angle ( equivlt to 35 mm) auto intelligence, face detector etc etc etc….

I bought it for a modest 499CHF. I will miss you for some time. Yesterday night my husband was searching for something on top of the bookcase, I mean on the top most shelf of the book case and he knocked it down, on the floor mercilessly in the dark. The worse was we ventured into the mountains the next day, on to THE mont blanc ” the white mountain” and even further to Martigny and further… travelling on roads as high above the grounds as 2000m. The highest I have been is paragliding from 1097 m from Saléve. The last picture I took with it was this : A Slug.

SubhanAllah!
SubhanAllah!
