O Allah! You alone do we worship and pray exclusively to You and bow before You alone and we hasten eagerly towards You and we fear Your severe punishment and hope for Your Mercy as your severe punishment is surely to be meted out to the unbelievers.

Lesson 9 For Children : Salah (Part 08 – Dua)

Bissmillah-i-Rahman-i-Raheem

(In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful)

Assalamoalaikum,
After Durood, we recite a Dua, which can be any Dua from the Quran or Hadeeth (sayings of the Prophet Peace and Blessings be Upon Him). I will write two Duas here, you can recite whichever one is easy for you.

Rabbana la tuzigh quloobana baAAda ith hadaytana wahab lana min ladunka rahmatan innaka anta alwahhabu

“Our Lord!” (they say), “Let not our hearts deviate now after Thou hast guided us, but grant us mercy from Thine own Presence; for Thou art the Grantor of bounties without measure.

(Aal-Imran, Chapter3. Verse 8 )

And the most common Dua is..

Allahumma rabbana atina fee alddunya hasanatan wafee al-akhirati hasanatan waqina AAathaba alnnari

from

And there are men who say: “Our Lord! Give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and defend us from the torment of the Fire!”

( Al-Baqarah, Chapter 2, Verse 201)

Lesson 8 For Children : Salah (Part 07 – Durood)

Bissmillah-i-Rahman-i-Raheem

(In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful)

Assalamoalaikum,
Durood is recited after Tashahhud, we learnt in the previous lesson.

Durood:

“Allahumma Salli ala Muhammadin
wa ‘ala Ali Muhammadin
Kama Sallaita ‘ala Ibrahima
wa ‘ala ali Ibrahima
Innaka Hameed-um-Majid

Allahumma barik ‘ala Muhammad-in
wa ‘ala ali Muhammadin
Kama barakat ‘ala Ibrahima
wa ‘ala ali Ibrahima
innaka Hameed-um-Majid”

“O God ! bestow benediction on Muhammad and on his offspring just as You showered benediction on Abrahim and on his offspring. Most certainly You are adorned with the best qualities and are elevated in thought.

O God ! confer blessings on Muhammad and on his offspring just as You conferred blessings on Abrahim and on his offspring. Most certainly You are adorned with the best qualities and are sublime.”

Lesson 7 For Children : Salah (Part 06 – Tashahhud)

Bissmillah-i-Rahman-i-Raheem

(In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful)

Assalamoalaikum,
In Lesson 7 we will learn the Tashahhud giving the testimony of faith during salat while sitting down (Jalsah).

Tashahhud:

After you make sujood twice you raise your head  after the second time saying Allah-o-Akbar and sit reverently and recite :-

“Atta-hiyyatu lillahi was-salawatu wat-tayyibatu as-salamu’alaika ayyuh-an-Nabbiyu wa rahmat-ullahi wa barakatuhu, As-salamu ‘alai-na wa ‘ala’Ibadullahi-is-Salihin.
Ash-hadu an-la-Ilaha ill-Allah Wa ash hadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa Rasuluh.”

“Our salutations, our prayers and all pure things are for Allah. Salutation to you O Prophet and Mercy and Blessing of Allah. Peace be on us and on all pious servants of Allah. I testify that there is no god save Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is the servant and messenger of Allah”.

While giving this testimony you raise your first finger while saying “Ash-hadu-Allah” because this constitutes in the Salah a declaration of your faith and it is necessary while uttering it to give special attention and emphasis to it.

(NOTE: This lesson may take a bit longer than the others as the part to memorize in Arabic is longer. May Allah give you the strength to do it soon, InshaAllah. Do remember to pray for yourself to Allah to memorize it. InshaAllah)
